Why do we want Anti-virus whats in it for us
Ever wondered why everyone bangs on so much about anti-virus, anti-virus this anti-virus that. It is simple, having no Anti-virus is like driving with no seat belt on, you probably won’t crash so who needs that seat belt, and anyway wearing a seat belt won’t stop me from crashing.
This is exactly the point, anti-virus is not 100% full proof, but its your best protection against the what ifs in the digital world, you wear a seat belt while driving to protect you from a crash that may or may not happen. The same applies to Anti-virus, you may or may not be attacked but can you afford not to ptotect yourself?
I can see how people would think “ive never had a virus before so im ok” but the point is anti-virus protects you against the possibility of being attacked.
In fact most people who have a virus don’t even know it, gone are the days when virus’s were loud and easy to notice, now they are designed to silently compromise your system with, in most cases, a single goal. Steal your personal or business information to make money from it!!
Now i can’t make every man woman and child to make sure they have some form of anti-virus on their pc, but i can say that without it you are putting yourself, your business and indeed your employess at unnecessary risk. As an example if an employees personal information was stolen from a company computer with no anti-virus that employee would be well within his or her rights to sue the company, it doesnt happen often but it does happen. Just try and make sure it doesn’t happen to you.
